"Howdy Gents,
I have been trying get players involved in writing and participating in Series Replay Articles. I've succeeded in getting three games started, but not in the Au fil de l'épée Series, not even a Canons en Carton game. I earnestly admire the l’Epee Series games. I found that only the intervention of game designers and company representatives asking people to participate in these kinds of efforts made any head way. Some of you know of my efforts regarding this kind of article and advertising for the BAR and LaBataille Series games by Clash of Arms. War Diary has received critical acclaim for the articles we’ve run on the BAR (Battles of the Age of Reason) and hope to recreate that kind of praise from the LaBataille Series Replay game and articles we’ve just organized. We’d like to do the same for the Au Fil de l’Epee Series.
Perhaps you might recommend players and a Neutral Commentator who would be happy to help?
On my own, I've tried and tried and tried and got no where. This is a feature that both Roy [publisher of War Diary] and I would like to see become a continuing part of War Diary because we both believe Series Replay articles are the best form of advertisement a game and company can get. Review articles are just "one man's opinion" but a Series Replay Article allows players to read and watch how a game turn progresses and learn some of the wrinkles in the rules that they may not otherwise understand. This above all things helps players to determine what games to buy.
Roy and I would very much like to help the Au Fil de l’Epee community, and indeed the hobby as best we can. But we also need your cooperation in these kinds of efforts.
Sincerely,
Tom Cundiff"
